Discipline -take 2

Okay so my once sweet loving baby Hailey is now entering her terrible two’s a little early. Does this mean it will end early too?!! Tantrums, whining and aggressiveness. While she was in day care the kids would do the typical biting, hitting and hair pulling. They were all of equal size and strength so it didn’t seem to be so bad.

Hailey has now been home with me for the past couple of months. She doesn’t seem to realize battling with other toddlers and her newborn sister are two different things! Poor Abby! I think her jealously is also starting to kick in once she absorbed the fact that her sister was here for good, and that she requires alot of attention from her mom and dad. When i was feeding the baby or bathing her is when Hailey would hit her. I tried time out the first few times only to have her do the same thing a few minutes later. In time out she would imitate me crossing my arms and give me the same stern look. I had to turn my head to laugh, it was funny! Then i tried ignoring her and she would bounce up and down laughing and trying to be cute.

Obviously she wasn’t getting it. So i know i once said on a post Brad did about dicipline, that i didnt agree with spanking. So needless to say i have changed my mind. By the second spank on her bottom she is cured! She has not hit her sister in weeks! She will swing her hand back and then just swoosh the air. So the spank worked. And it turns out Brad was finally right about something!! Love u Babe!

Hailey is trapped

We finally move to our new house, its has been exciting, frustrating, and exhausting. We are now in the country and its has been a big change but a good one. Hailey isslowly starting to adjust to her new surroundings. The first couple weeks she was having trouble sleeping due to the new enviroment. She would cry for hours…..  finally fadding out to sleep ,only to wake up just as brad and i were headed for bed! Gotta love her! Luckly now she is back to taking her long 2 hour nap which is why i actually have the time to write today! She is now 20 months and has completly given up her crib, she so nicely handed  it over to her little sister! I am a little worried about her sleeping in the big girl bed, a few mornings when i woke up i heard her crying and found her stuck between the bed and wall! This morning i found her trapped under the bed! How do i keep my baby in the bed?! Usually when she wakes up she will wait for me in her bed or she will get  down and i can hear her talking to her babies. We did push the bed up against the wall .Is any one else experiencing this? If so Help! I want her to be safe during the night.
