He will talk your ear off, but it is a bunch of gubberish. About the only words/phrases he says are mama, dada, ouch, no, whats dat?, whos dat?, and he points at everything. So don't feel bad...I'm right there with ya. I'm sure one day they will both just burst out with something along the lines of, "Let's order pizza Mom!" :D My boy is almost 16 months old and he only says a few “real words”. I didn't think about the newborn being in a basonet for the first few months too. Hailey will be 18 months when Abby is born, another 3 months and Hailey will be almost 2 years old. We switched all of ours to "big girl beds" at 2. It worked for us, but that's not to say it will be best for you. At just over 1 you will have a new host of issues. Babyproofing the entire floor she can get into when she inevitably wakes at night, unless you are going to lock her in her room, then you have to worry about her getting into stuff there. When it came to daddy trying to figure out how to secure it up anyway. We'll be relocating soon to a place with only one story so that will be one less worry but one less toy for baby Hailey too lol. I loved it.
