What is an appropriate bed time for a 16 month old? Hailey used to go to bed at 7:00, but latley we have been letting her stay up to 9:00. It is nice because we get to spend more time with her. But when its time to finally put her to be she puts up a bigger fight and cries for much longer in her crib. In the morning i have to rub her back to wake her up, while normally she would already be awake playing. She also seems to be more cranky when i pick her up from school, she is also teething so its hard to tell if its sleep or just agony from her teeth. Tonight brad put her down at her old bed time and she was asleep with out a big fuss. i miss the exta time with her playing and chasing her around the house, her little laugh is to die for! We’ll see if her mood is better when i pick her up tomorrow!
Sphere: Related ContentHailey has another tooth coming in. She has five already, this is the sixth and she keeps getting really cranky every time we get another tooth coming in. We’ve been using teething tablets instead of baby oragel to try to make it easy for her but I’m not sure which one works better. Any body with kids have more experience in this department? On top of the tooth medications, we give her a cold teething ring, any other suggestions on how we can keep our daughter from suffering through teething?
She seems to be having trouble sleeping even with either the tablets or oragel. She normally is out for the night when you put her to bed in the evening, but lately when teething she wakes up crying. She isn’t napping as much during the day either, today at daycare she didn’t nap at all. Help!!

Well, my story is one of big change in a little amount of time. This time last year I was single, not only single but set in my bachelor ways. I had all my time to myself, I did what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. Most of my days between work were spent playing video games, riding my motorcycle around town or out having a good time with the guys. Not to mention sleeping in on a regular basis! Life was easy, other than my job and bills I really had no responsibility and I loved it. I had no one to answer to.
Cut to what seems like a few short months ago and you meet my wife, of course she was just my girlfriend at the time. But she was already starting to introduce me to things I didn’t think were ever going to be in my life. It wasn’t long at all before I met Baby Hailey. At first, I had limited time to get to know her, I wasn’t around all the time and only played with her a few minutes at a time while waiting for Jamie to go out to dinner. That’s all she needed, that little baby wiggled her way into my heart effortlessly. By this time I was already well in love with her mother, but then I started realizing I loved the baby too when I missed her smile while I was away. She has the cutest laugh! Not to mention she loves to imitate the things I do.
Now comes the part where I really started becoming a father! These were the things I didn’t plan on. Changing diapers, giving baths, trying to entertain her when she’s cranky, the baby I mean. Love you honey! When I was a bachelor, thinking of changing diapers and crying kids is something that makes you glad you are single. But now that I do it, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Not any of it.
It may smell but it gives you a warm feeling knowing that you made the baby feel better after giving her a fresh diaper and cleaning her up. It’s a blast playing with her in the bathtub, we have this little game called ‘you throw it out of the tub and watch daddy fetch’, that’s her favorite. My favorite part of ’tubby time’ is the bubble blower she got for Easter, I shower her with bubbles and watch as she tries to catch them in mid-air! And one of my favorite things, the thing I love most is when she is cranky and ready for a nap. That’s when I get to make her a bottle and hold her in my arms until she falls asleep. Many times I’ll hold her after she falls asleep rather than taking her to her crib. She just seems so comfortable and at peace that I don’t want to move and disturb her. I just wanted to start humming, ‘Hush little baby, don’t say a word…’.
